EmPOWERing Swimmers FOR Success in LIFE. A USA Swimming / Gulf Swimming member organization in Katy/West Houston
Power for Life team practices are held primarily at James E. Taylor High School, 20700 Kingsland Boulevard, in Katy, Texas. Parking is in the main gymnasium parking lot at the rear of the 9th Grade Center. Enter through the glass doors at the far end of the sidewalk.
During the long course season, PFL conducts several practices a week at the Dad's Club pool at 1006 Voss Road in Houston. Additional practices are held at the Creekstone community pool at 22002 Eagle Meadow Drive in Katy and the Park Cypress pool at 18411 Park Cypress Dr in Green Trails.
During the school year, practices run from 4 PM to 7:30 PM at the Taylor pool. Practice groups are mostly determined by age. In the 12 and under age groups, swimmers with an IMX score practice with the Lightning 1 group. Swimmers ages 15 and over who are Sectionals qualifiers and/or achieve certain other performance milestones swim in our Thunder 1 performance group.
In the summer, Thunder holds two practices per day, one in the early morning and one in the early afternoon. 12 and under groups practice in the afternoons at Taylor. Long Course qualifiers swim Friday mornings at the Dad's Club pool on Voss.
