  • Must attend at least 2 USA meets per year​​

PowerFit --  Age 13 & Up


Year-round program for high schoolers who desire a challenging workout but are uninterested in competing in USA/Gulf Swimming meets.


This program will be run concurrently with the Thunder II and III groups detailed above.  Swimmers will receive the same instruction for the first six weeks of the season.  After the first T30 time trial and the October IMX meet, swimmers will be split into the competitive/non-competitive groups appropriate to their age and/or skill level.  Swimmers in the SwimFit group will focus on fitness and conditioning with some technique instruction.  They will not receive training in race strategy, starts, or turns.


  • 5 practices per week (M/T/Th/F)
  • 90 minutes each
  • Runs concurrently with Thunder II and III practices
  • Not a part of USA Swimming

THUNDER

Ages 13 & Up

High School Swimmers

PowerReady -- Up to Age 13


For school age children who are able to swim but are unready or uninterested in competing in USA/Gulf Swimming meets.


This program will be run concurrently with the Lightning and Rain groups detailed above.  Swimmers will receive the same instruction for the first six weeks of the season.  After the October IMR meet, swimmers will be split into the competitive or pre-competitive groups appropriate to their age.  Swimmers in the Novice group will focus on fitness and conditioning with some technique instruction.  They will not receive training in race strategy, starts, or turns.


  • 4 practices per week (M/T/W/Th)
  • 60 to 90 minutes each​ depending on age
  • Runs concurrent with competitive team schedule for Rain and Lightning groups
  • ​Not a part of USA Swimming
  • Goal is to move to competitive team when ready



Rain

Up to Age 10

Thunder I -- Our Elite Group


Thunder I is a competition-based group for swimmers ages 15 and up who have achieved outstanding performance and dedication to USA Swimming.


Qualifications include:  ​

  • Member of High School Varsity Team

  • High School Graduate / College Student

  • Achieve qualifying T-30 results

  • Demonstrated dedication to USA swimming

  • Qualified for Sectionals

  • Aim to qualify for National level meets

  • Must attend USA meets throughout the year

  • Must maintain seasonal IMX score

  • 5 practices per week  (2.5​ hours each​)

LIGHTNING I

  • Ages 11 & up

  • Age 10 with at least 3 A times; must have IMX score

  • Placed by Coach Sharon

  • Must attend at least 2 USA meets per year

  • Focus on technique in an atmosphere that promotes learning and fun

  • Up to 5 practices per week (90 minutes each)

HIGH SCHOOL CONDITIONING


Summer-only program for High School athletes wishing to stay in shape and improve technique during the school's off season.


High School Conditioning class swimmers do not participate in meets.


  • 4 practices per week

Thunder III

  • Ages 13 & up
  • Must attend at least 2 USA meets per year
  • Focus on technique with introduction on training methodologies
  • Up to 5 practices per week (1.5 to 2 hours each)

LIGHTNING II

  • Ages 9 - 10
  • Must attend at least 2 USA meets per year
  • Focus on technique in an atmosphere that promotes learning and fun
  • Up to 4 practices per week​ (75 minutes each)


RAIN

For School aged children up to age 10 ready for a competitive environment.   Swimmers are expected to participate in USA meets.


Training is age appropriate and fun, however, swimmers must be disciplined enough to participate in structured swim training. 


  • 3 practices per week
  • ​60 minutes each


SHARK SCHOOL -- Up to Age 12


For School Age children who are able to swim freestyle and backstroke but need to improve their technique before joining the competitive community.  


This is not a learn to swim program.  All swimmers must be able to complete two lengths of the pool in freestyle and one length in backstroke across the deep end.


This program has a fun environment with age appropriate drills to encourage skill development.  Participants will learn all four competition strokes plus legal starts, pullouts, and turns.


  • 2 practices per week
  • 40 minutes each
  • 6 practices per month guaranteed
  • ​School year only (switch to Stroke Clinics in the summer months)
